THE LAST BLOG OF 2020! — a summary of our year...

So, this year has not been the year that we had expected. Did anyone expect 2020 to be this awful? So much has happened in the world this year, it is hard to believe that 2020 is nearly over so quickly. However, despite the misery that 2020 has brought, it has not stopped our team from working hard and our company from growing. We have been extremely fortunate our sector has not experienced as rough a ride as say, hospitality. In fact, 2020 has somehow been one our best years to date.

Here is a summary of our year at Red Rose.

LOCKDOWN (March): Never did we expect when coronavirus broke out, that we would have to stay away from the office for as long as we did. As a small team of four at the time, it was worrying not knowing when we would next be able to work. In addition to this, our job proved difficult because insurers were constantly changing the goal posts and changing application questions due to the virus, this made it awfully hard to place new business. As a broker that puts its client’s needs first, many policies stalled at this point until the mist cleared and insurers again became confident in accepting new business. Back in March, there was so many unknowns and questions which thankfully form a business/insurance standpoint resolved as the year progressed.

NEW TEAM MEMBERS: We could not be happier with our two new team members Drew and Marc. They have both taken to life at Red Rose Insurance Solutions extremely well, both are ultra-competent, and both are now part of the furniture from a social standpoint also. It will not be long before they progress from trainee insurance agents to being able to offer insurance advice themselves. Not only this, but they are both working towards their Cert. II (Charted Insurance Institute). Plenty of hard work starting from January for the pair of them!

2021 PLANS:

FORM RELATIONSHIPS:  We aim for 2021 to be a better year for us than 2020. We hope to be able to network again and form face to face relationships with future clients. Due to the pandemic, we have been 100% phone based which was the only safe option.

MAINTAIN RELATIONSHIPS: It is paramount we ensure our current clients are always looked after. We are always on hand to answer any questions or even in some cases have a quick chat, we are only ever a phone call away!

GROWTH: We also plan to take on new staff members. In the new year we will be looking to employ 2, potentially 3, new apprentices who will be working towards their insurance practitioner qualifications. We are looking forward to being able to give these amazing opportunities for the right person to carve themselves a career in financial services. If all goes to plan this will mean more growth for Red Rose, including a potential office move. Also, in 2021 we plan to dip our toes into different insurance markets which will mean we can expand our target market.

TREAT STAFF: Most importantly, this next year we hope to be able to plan lots of staff days out which we have not been able to organize this year due to covid. We want to be able to show our appreciation to our team members which unfortunately have been put on ice this year!

Finally, we would like to thank all our clients, friends/account managers at all the insurers, amazing staff and all our friends and families who continue to support and help our business grow. Whether that be as little as like, a comment or a share on Facebook it all helps and we really appreciate it!

Here is to a better 2021 for everyone!!
